The game – Monopoly rules
Preparations
- After each player has chosen a pawn, the play money is divided up.
- The following notes are issued to the players: 2 × 500 euros, 4 × 100 euros, 1 × 50 euros, 1 × 20 euros, 2 × 10 euros, 1 × 5 euros and 5 × 1 euros. So everyone has a start-up capital of 1,500 euros.
- The bank must then be directed by a selected player.
- Shuffle the community and event cards well and place them on their respective spaces on the board.
- The game pieces are all released and the game can begin.
At Monopoly you start on the LOS field. After the order in which the players have their turn has been determined, the players move clockwise around the matchfield . The drawing is determined with 2 dice. Initially, all of the land belongs to the bank. However, if a player lands on a field that does not yet belong to anyone, he has the right to appropriate it and henceforth to demand rent from those who land on it. However, if the player chooses not to, it will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. It is also expedient to build houses and hotels on your land so that the rent increases. In addition, you can borrow land in order to receive fresh capital from the bank.
It is also possible to buy the train stations, water and electricity plants. The only downside is that you can't build houses or hotels on it. But since they are well distributed on the field, the other players keep coming back and it's a good side income.
Unfortunately if you are short of money, you also have the option of selling the streets back to the bank. But this is only possible if no houses or hotels have been built on it.
If you come to a field with a community or event card you have to complete the tasks that are indicated on it. Nothing happens at the prison field, you are just a visitor. If you land on the Go to prison field, then unfortunately you are an inmate. This can also happen to you if you draw a card that shows it or if you roll double dice three times in a row. To get out of prison again, you either pay 50 € to the bank, roll a double or have drawn the corresponding card that you are free again.
Goal of the game
The goal at monopoly is, as many as possible Plots or Streets to buy in order to amass the greatest possible fortune. You win when all the other players are no longer solvent. Insolvent means that they no longer own any property that they can borrow from the bank. Even if the “cash” is no longer enough to pay debts or rent you are out of the game.
The game has excited young and old for years and we hope that our grandchildren and their children will still know and play the game. In any case, it was an indispensable part of our childhood.
