Puzzle is a classic dice game for young and old. Here certain pieces have to be rolled and maximum points have to be achieved. The player with the most points wins. The number of points per game round is entered on a notepad. Especially for beginners there are preprinted game slips that you can either buy or print out online.

The oldest puzzle games were patented as early as 1881. The company ES Lowe then sold these under the name Yahtzee in 1956. The gaming company Hasbro bought the company in 1984.

Rules of the game of puzzles
The strategy game puzzles is played with five dice and a dice cup. The results are noted on a piece of paper. Knobeln is also known under the names Yahtzee, Yatzy, Pasch or Kniffel . Anyone who has mastered the basics of addition and subtraction can play along. According to the manufacturer, a game usually lasts 20 to 60 minutes.
Game preparation
Most of the time, either the youngest or the oldest player starts playing. Then the dice are rolled in clockwise order. Each player now has three throws with the puzzle cup. After each throw, the matching throws are set aside and the rest are thrown again. After the 3rd throw, the result must be noted on a piece of paper. If the player cannot make an entry, he is obliged to cross a field.
The rules of puzzling
Putting the dice on their side is particularly useful for doubles, where the same number of pips is required. On the one hand, it is important to roll the 1 to 6 rows. There it is not the total that counts, only the corresponding number. When rows 1 to 6 have been filled in, the total is added up. If the player has reached 63 points or more, he receives an extra 35 points bonus. Then there are the remaining pieces with three and four, small and large streets and full house. Or the famous Knobel or Kniffel. In the Chance field, you can write down all throws that do not fit into any field. All eyes are simply added up here.
Triple and quadruple
You have to roll three or four equal sums of the dice. You count all eyes.
Full house
One number must appear twice and the other three times. Then you get 25 points that you can write down.
Small and large streets
There must be 4 or 5 numbers in a row. That gives 30 points for the small and 40 points for the big street.
Puzzles
All dice must show the same pairs of eyes, then you get 50 points.
evaluation
Both blocks are first added separately. If you get at least 63 points in the upper area, you get 35 bonus points extra. Getting these bonus points should be a priority in order to win. Then you add the points below and get the final result.
Important
In order to avoid misunderstandings during the game, it is important to clarify the rules at the beginning. The use of a dice cup is also advisable and makes the game easier. Children with small hands in particular have it easier with the mug.
Playing
The winner is whoever has the highest number of points including the bonus on their slip of paper.
